007 Call

The vanity gateway callsign UK007-L has been issued for the Easter Weekend for a special event...

We are pleased to announce the first use of the PMR446 gateway vanity callsign "UK007" by David (2E1EHM) during the Hilderstone Radio and Electronics club "Work The World 24Hr Special Open Air Operating Event" which itself has the special ham callsign of "G0HRS" issued by the RSGB.

David has assured me that he doesn't actually have a Walter PPK, or a Golden PMR446 Radio.

So go and give them a shout, or others a shout via their PMR446 gateway currently set up in a tent in Westgate, Margate. CTCSS 19, channel may vary over the day so scan around for them. They have a barbecue too, so pop over and check them out.

We look forward to hearing reports of their contacts with Australia and across Europe throughout the day and Sunday.

For more details of the "007" callsign, or if you wish to use this for a special event on our PMR446 Gateway Server please drop us a mail

The picture below shows the system being set up. eQSO RF Gateway is running on the laptop, in turn connected via "BlueTooth" to a GPRS mobile phone and the internet at 28kbs. PMR446 radio settings as per our details on this site.
